I'm a lifer!
I have been on a "stay" cation these past 2 weeks. I have had a lot of trouble being true to the weight loss thing. Hope this isn't a look at retirement. Anyway, first week I swam everyday! Results - 3 lb. + weight loss. This week, can't say the same. Don't have any idea about the poundage but I'll tell you, I have struggled with staying on program and can't swim.....got crazy and got some more "body art" and have to wait a week to get back in the pool. Cross your fingers. BUT, like the title of this bit said, I'm in it for LIFE. One week will not discourage me! I will committ to doing the best that I can, with what I have. And like I told a dear friend of mine, I have a really BIG backer guiding me! Glory to you dear GOD! Let's hope the news on Sunday won't be too overwhelming.

Whew! It worked!
Well yeah, this week was more successful. I lost 3.6 pounds that puts me at 37.6 pounds lost since March. And even more if you count weight before I had surgery. Anyway, I think I have figured part of this plateau out. If I am able to continuously swim for about 40 min. doing modified, or as I like to call them, granny laps...I am able to kick the pounds lost in the butt! It makes doing this feel more "worth it'.

I don't get it
Been trying to lose weight for about 50 years. Really. I remember Dr. Hill in New Castle, Delaware putting me on a diet when I was in the 3rd grade. About 50 years later I am still on a diet. I'll say it, I am a food addict. I love food. I hate that food hates me. Neither of my parents had any weight problems. None of their family members that I ever met had weight problems, except for both my maternal and paternal grandmothers. Great...most people worry about turning into their mothers. I turned into my grandmother! Worked harder at being active this week with 5 trips to the pool. Really. Now I'm no Michael Phelps or whatever his name was, nor that older woman that swam in the Olympics, but I diligently swim back and forth, back and forth 20-30 times. I know for a fact that that has been more exercise than this old body has seen in 30 years. What was the outcome? Woooo hoooo! A whopping loss of .6 pounds. In case you can't see, that was six tenths of one pound! As you can see above, I haven't always been heavy. This was in the early 1980s after having been a lifeguard for 3 years. Ohhhhhh, lose were the days. Also in the pic is my BEST friend, Joanne, and my mom Rene. Love them! Well, back to the diet and exercise!
